The messages teachers dread writing, written for you
Chasing a payment. Raising your rates. Mentioning the no-show. Teachers tell us these small messages are the worst part of running a studio — so here they are, warm but unambiguous. Pick the situation and copy.
Hi there, Just a friendly note that last month's tuition hasn't come through yet — it may well have slipped past in a busy week. Whenever you have a moment, you can settle it the usual way. Thanks so much, and see you at the next lesson! your teacher
Why these messages work
Each one does three things: assumes good faith (most late payments really are just a busy week), states the policy as a fact rather than an accusation, and ends with a clear next step. You never have to sound like a debt collector — the consistency is what carries the firmness.
One habit worth building: send the first nudge early, while it’s still small. A two-line note three days after the due date is easy for everyone; a month-old balance is an awkward conversation for both of you.
Docenta sends these for you — reminders, receipts, and follow-ups, automatically
Tell Docenta your payment rules once, and polite reminders go out on schedule without you writing another one.
